Mighty Ducks-The Second Line

The First Assignment

"Wow," gasped Wildwing. "Seven new Ducks!"
Stivz had just finished introducing his new team of Ducks from PuckWorld. They were all Betsy Drake, Nylessa Drakely, Blade L'Orange, Chance, Erin, Dusty, and James. Blade looked up at the original Mighty Ducks and immediatly recognised her big brother. She ran to Duke and gave him a huge hug.
"I've missed you so much." Blade cried. "After you left home, we all thought that the Authority got you."
Duke hugged his long-lost sister. "I've missed you, too, kid." He then looked confused. "What Authority?"
Stivz stepped ahead. "It'sa pretty long story. There have been many changes on PuckWorld since we left."
"So," Nosedive asked. "What do we do now?"
Wildwing spoke. "Let's go into the headquarters and get these guys comfortable. We have a lot of explaining to do."

Deep in the heart of the Talon, Diablo and the other Saurians were moping about the command chamber. Dragonous casually stood in the corner, propped up one lone leg and arms folded.
"What ever happened to 'getting to the source of the problem'?" he snickered.
Diablo stomped over to him and gave Draggy a swat across the face. "Shut up, you!!" he roared. "Tell me all that you know about the Duck with the Silver Mask. And why didn't you tell me about it??"
"You never gave me time." Dragonous said. "You went off on your little rampage on getting rid of the Ducks."
"Just tell me what you know about him."
Dragonous shrugged. "His name is Stivz. A fugitive from PuckWorld, he rescued the Ducks from the Raptor when I had captured them. He has created his own silver mask, and is known to be very aggressive and very vengeful."
Diablo's eyebrows raised up. "Aggressive and vengeful, eh?"
Dragonous nodded. "He has a special weapon he carries with him. Some sort of a multi-rapid-fire puck rifle."
"That doesn't scare me." Diablo said. "Start making plans!" Diablo yelled at his henchmen. "The Duck will be here any time."

Wildwing and Stivz burst into Phil Palmfeather's office, while Phil was making a deal on his cell phone. Phil heard the door fling open and almost fell out of his seat. He ended his phone conversation and spun around in his chair to face the Ducks. Stivz and Wildwing both had hockey sticks in their hands, and their masks were activated.
"What's goin' on here?" Phil asked. "Some sort of mask convention?"
"In case you haven't already found out," Stivz announced. "There are seven new Ducks here at the Pond. Six of them are from PuckWorld. Your little franchise just doubled itself."
Phils eyes grew very wide. "More Ducks?" he shouted. "This is great!!"
Wildwing smiled. "I hate to be the one to tell you Phil, but there is a huge gaping hole in the west parking lot that may take a little money to fill back in."
Phil's face sank. "What?! You mean that I'm gonna have to pay loads of money just to repair something that you Ducks are probably responsible with?!"
Stivz cut in. "Actually, I had a better idea rather than just filling it in."
Wildwing and Stivz both smiled from under their masks. Phil looked over at Stivz, his eyes lit up. "I'm listening." said Phil.

The original Mighty Ducks stood in a line before the new Ducks. They had new Mighty Duck jerseys in their arms.
"It's time we finally made these new rookies honorary Ducks!" said Duke.
"Yeah." smiled Nosedive. "And then we can get out on the ice for a full practice of hockey!"
Stivz and Wildwing then entered the room. "Not just any hockey," announced Stivz. "Street hockey!"
Dusty's eyes lit up. So did the other Ducks'.
"What do you mean, Stivz?" asked Mallory.
Wildwing cut in. "We struck a deal with our manager."
The Ducks looked surprised. Duke shook his head.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You mean that you two actually made a deal with Phil Palmfeather?"
Stivz nodded.
"And he agreed on it?" Dive stuttered.
Stivz continued. "Yeah, we all agreed to build a new headquarters in that huge hole that that new lizard blew in the west parking lot."
"Cool!" said Erin.
"And to top that off," Stivz went on. "We're also going to build a new state-of-the-art street hockey complex over the new headquarters."
"It's going to be the new home for our new friends." Wildwing added.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Nylessa.
Stivz walked over to the new team and put his hands on James and Blade's shoulders.
"You guys are now Mighty Ducks." Stivz said. "We are the Second Line."
The Mighty Ducks gave the new Ducks their new hockey jerseys , which already had their names and numbers on them.
"Whenever we need some extra players in the game, both in and out of the Pond," Wildwing said. "The Second Line will be on call just in case."
"And since that new Saurian is in town," said Grin. "We'll need the help."
"But how are we playing hockey?" asked Blade. "We only play street hockey, that's what we've been doing for the last few years."
"Well," Stivz said. "The Second Line is going to enter the National and International Street Hockey Circuit. A perfect setup."
"Man, this is great." said Betsy. "Yesterday we were street scum, running for our lives from the Authority. And now, we're actually Mighty Ducks!"
Chance sat back, grasping the subject. "Yeah," she said quietly as the sat down. "It's hard to believe it, everything's happening so fast."
Stivz smiled. "Let's go get your gear."

The Second Line lined up behind Stivz as he walked over to a panel in the blue wall. He punched in the panel, and a wide display of military Puck weapons came out of the wall. Dusty and James were impressed. "Wow," Dusty said. "I haven't seen any of these ever since the Authority destroyed them all back on PuckWorld."
Stivz took seven hand puck launchers and gave one each new Duck. "This is your standard issue sidearm." Stivz said. "It's important that you know how to use these well, because it's one of our most used weapons."
James stuck out his hand and refused to take the puck weapon as Stivz handed it to him. Stivz looked at James funny.
"It's alright," said James Pond. "I have my own iron."
James pulled a small automatic puck blaster out of his jacket. It was the one he used back in his spy days on PuckWorld. Stivz nodded. "Ookaayy," he said. "Whatever you say."
Stivz then handed two puck launchers to Dusty. "Since you are so swift with these things," said Stivz. "You can be our shaprshooter."
"Cool." said Dusty. He charged his blaster to see if it was loaded, and then pointed it at the floor, testing the gunsights."
Stivz looked over at Blade and Nylessa. "I take it that you already have your weapons."
The two girls both nodded. They both took out their DuckSabres and activated them. Nylessa's sword had a clear, glass-like blade, and Blade's sword was an emerald color.
Stivz continued down the wall, and came to another display. He picked up a telecommuter's headset and battery pack and handed it to Chance. Chance was wearing a black leather jacket, and wore a pair of sunglasses.
"What's this?" asked Chance in a low voice. Stivz smiled.
"I heard that you were very good at electronics and security systems. So, I figured that you would be more useful with this."
Chance put the headset on her head and tested the sound and reception. She tapped the battery pack and smiled. "How much power can I get with this?"
"Six hours." said Stivz.
Stivz then finally turned to Betsy. "And you will be our weapons specialist."
"Great!!" shouted Betsy. "What kind of weapons?"
Stivz once again punched a panel in the wall, and a huge display containing all sorts of puck weapons. Puck blasters, puck cannons, puck bazookas, and disc pucks.
Mallory and Wildwing walked up to Stivz and the Second Line. "Now, what exactly are disc pucks, Stivz?" asked Mal.
"Oh, they're just something I just came up with last week. They act like frisbees, but when you throw them, they speed towards their target and explode."
Wildwing raised his eyebrows. "Impressive"
"I know." said Stivz.
Stivz and the Second Line went and took a little tour around the Pond. They all saw the arena, the hangar, and the garage, where Stivz showed off his PowerForce. There were two vehicles under tarps. Duke, who was with them, tried to take a peek under one of the tarps.
"Ahem," muttered Stivz.
Duke spun around to see him staring at him. Duke choked and chuckled a bit. "Whoops." Duke laughed. "Sorry."
"No peeking until I unveil them after I'm finished." Stivz said.
After the tour, the new Ducks came back into the Rec. Room and sat down on the couches. Stivz stood up, looking at Drake One. Wildwing came up behind him. "What are you thinking Stivz?"
Without turning around, Stivz asked Wildwing, "How do you feel after that hit you took earlier?"
"It's still very sore, but I can live with it for a while. I'm just worried about this new lizard. He calls himself Diablo."
"The Spanish word for 'devil'." Stivz said. "Very appropriate."
"What are you getting at, Stivz?" Wildwing questioned.
Stivz smiled. "I'm just thinking of playing my second favorite game."
"Really," wondered Wildwing. "And what would that be?"
There was a great flash of light, and once again, a silver flame appeared on Stivz's beak as he turned around. The Second Line Ducks were amazed except for Dusty, who had already witnessed the mask.
When the flame died down, the silver mask was there on Stivz's face. The eyes were a bright blue, glowing in the eyeholes.
"Revenge." Stivz growled.

As he said this, the eyes of the mask turned from blue to red, they were reacting with Stivz's mood.
